Barbara Bond spent her career as a map researcher in the Ministry of Defence, eventually becoming the senior civilian Director and Deputy Chief Executive.

Excellent resource

I had been googling about POW escapes during WW II for months when I came across this book. It feels meticulously researched and it's exactly what I needed to complete my own research on a related topic. It's well-written, scholarly, and imho, authoritative. Extremely well done.

Lots of Information.

As a collector of WWII cloth maps, I have been looking for the information given in this book for over 10 years. Great Book, lots of good information, if you are interested in cloth maps this is the best on the maps printed by MI9 in England. Waiting for a book on Cloth WWII maps printed in the United States, and India.
